The Kent County Chess Association organises competitive chess for 20 clubs in metropolitan and wider Kent

It is a member of the Southern Counties Chess Union (S.C.C.U) and is affiliated to the English Chess Federation (E.C.F.)
The KCCA runs 7 competitions for all degrees of playing strength. These are:-
    • County Cup – an open competition for teams of 6 in which there are no grading limits.
    • Lewis Cup – teams of 6 with an average grading limit per team of 170

The top 2 teams in each tournament then play semi-finals against the winners and runners-up in the other area.
