A close match that was in
A close match that was in doubt until the very end. Boards 5 and 6 finished fairly quickly leaving the score 1-1. All the other games were close for much of the evening until Jamie got the better of John on board 2 and when Purbeck won on board 3 and Poole won on board 4, the result depended on what happened on board 1. A draw would give Purbeck the match. The game was fairly even but in the end Nick converted a material advantage in the endgame giving Poole the match. Well played Poole and thanks for the warm welcome.
