A day that started off badly
A day that started off badly with one player reporting ill in the morning, leading to get a hasty replacement, was then compounded by a no show from another player- my apologies to Chris. On the board , Jake making his debut for Bournemouth secured a fine win against Ken, well played Jake. On board 2 I blundered a pawn on move 7 , should have won it back on move 19,and equalised ,but didn't see the follow up sequence, in fairness i thought Paul had the upper hand throughout the game, well played Paul. Board 1was a tight game, Rob turned down the draw at one point, as he correctly predicted that only a win would help the team, and tried for the win , but John would not be denied, well played John, and fair play to Rob.
Thank you to Southborne for a enjoyable evening played in a great sprit by both teams.
