A great night of very competitive chess ,between the two Bournemouth teams. First to finish was board 4 , where from a distance I thought Manuela had a small material advantage, but John delivered a back rank checkmate, well played to him. On board 1 Paul opened with 1. F4 but I found a good defence, and went a piece up!! I pushed for the win, but Paul defended well, I still had a big advantage ,Rook and Knight V Rook ; then disaster struck when I left knight hanging on move 33 !! A draw was agreed. On Board 2 Seb was playing his first league game, and secured a draw against a more experienced player, Seb thought he had good chances to win during the game, but congratulations to both players. Chris and Paul ,teammates from last year, was last to finish, in a tight game a draw was agreed.
Congratulations and many thanks to Paul and his team, we look forward to playing the "away" game.
