An enjoyable sociable evening.
James won well on top board after stifling Ian's normal Benko couterplay on the queenside, David Lewis seemed to always have the upper hand on board 6 creating too much pressure on the queenside. Mark had a comfortable win on board 7. Anton was the exchange up on board 5 but Andre had lots of compensation and created too many attacking threats and ended up with a devastating kingside attack. John will be kicking himself that he could not convert a pawn advantage in a K + P ending on board 4. Graham built up a commanding position on board 3 and converted, With Wimborne 1 point ahead Pete Wilcock offered a draw a pawn up on board 2 which was accepted.
Wimborne were the deserved winners.
