Congratulation to Wimborne A for coming 2nd
With both teams having lost in the previous round of matches and, as a result, their chances of winning the championship, this was a match to determine which team came 2nd in the division.
Although Wimborne A were missing 2 players and were significantly outrated on the 2 bottom boards, they were deserved winners in a closely fought match. Many congratulations.

Thanks to Southbourne for the
Thanks to Southbourne for the usual hospitaility and to Peter and Graham for stepping in as reserves.
James Forster on 2 had a very strong position and quickly had a winning position which Eddie could not stop.
Board 3 was pretty even with black trying to push for a win but Peter held on well for a win
On board 4 Graham played a classical Benko and eventually the pressure told winning material and the game.
On top board a Nimzowitch was played by Martin in an opening we have played many times. Unusually white attacked on the king side and managed to stop any counter attack and white won well after forcing swopping off of queens and having 2 passed pawns.
Well done to my team for an against the odds win securing 2nd place in league after an exciting year in Div 1.
