The direction of the match was set early on when Kevin emerged from the opening with an extra pawn and a nice central pawn mass at the cost of having his king slightly awkwardly placed on f2. Overall it looked like he had a sizeable advantage.
Graham played it safe against Ian and a draw was soon agreed in what looked like a very level position. Soon after Allan and Peter agreed a draw in a position which perhaps was slightly better for Peter. Martin and Eddie reached an endgame in which Martin was a little better. However, by that stage Kevin's position was still looking good so Martin agreed to a draw.
David fought very hard for a long time but eventually Kevin got connected c and d passers that netted a piece. Kevin finished the game with a nice tactical shot.
