21 May. Ringwood pulled back from being 0.5-1.5 down to draw following a win from Rob Davenport and a draw on board 4 between Malcolm Day (Ringwood) and Dave Hardie (Dorchester). Rob Davenport played a fine game with an excellent finish against an opponent who has had a good season himself, being unbeaten in the league. Earlier Andrew Footner had won for Dorchester and board 2 was drawn. Ringwood finished 3rd in their first season in the County League and Dorchester B, beaten only twice in 10 matches, were 4th.
This match brought to a close an excellent season in the 3 County Leagues, all of which were closely contested with the Championships on a knife-edge until the final matches. Very well done to all involved.
