Wimborne brought a strong team to west Hampshire, so we knew it would be a tough night. Board 1 Martin and Mark first to finish followed by by board 3 where myself and Eddie agreed a quick draw. Bruce enjoyed his game against Ian so 2-1 , this left an excellent match on board 4 where Bill finally inflicted Roberts first defeat of the season, opportunities were missed by both but a drawn match seems fair RU

Thanks to Highcliffe for
Thanks to Highcliffe for usual hospitality.
Board 1 finished early in what seemed like a tame draw.
On board 3 Eddie seemed to place his pieces in the wrong places and was happy to take a draw after a few pieces were swopped off.
On board 2 Ian managed to pin his own piece and Bruce played a couple of nice moves which seemed to flumox the Wimborne captain who literally fell apart and left with undue haste!!
Thanks to Bill for hanging on for a win in apparently a topsy turvy game which secured the drawn match.
