Boards 2 and 4 ended in draws leaving the match to be decided on the other two boards.
On 3, Ronnie had outplayed me through out the session. Gradually increasing his advantage from a good edge to winning when in the final round of complications, he offered a draw. I accepted with completely inappropriate haste!
This left the top board, where Peter had given up the exchange early in the game and had good compensation for it, and perhaps a little more. However, a stray move resulted in a blunder and instant resignation. So Weymouth were victorious.
We have discovered a slight issue in our shiny new Dorset league venue - it is too quiet!
A pleasure to play Weymouth in a typically friendly yet competitive encounter.
