A hard fought match Poulton needed to win 5 3 versus a slightly under strength Bispham team.
After the first round of games when Poulton were black on all boards,
the score was 2- 2 meaning Poulton had to win 3- 1 in the second round.
First to finish was Paul who won quickly followed by Michael to leave us in the box seat.
However Dave blundered a piece and lost.
This meant I had to win my game with Q and 2 v R and 2.
At the right time I sacced the queen for the rook leaving a pawn runner which I converted.
Well played Bispham and very well played Jacob.
