OK, so we had planned to field Muhammad Kausar in this match, but we were contacted by Simon to say they would be defaulting one board. I could see the software was winding up for a major strop regarding not only his individual rating but also the team aggregate rating. Then Trefor Thynne offered to come down & play a rated game, so I asked MK to step out from the match.
In the match, Jack seized on an opportunity for an unpleasant skewer with Ben having a difficult evening after dropping a knight "early doors". Dev reached a double rook ending with a slight advantage but marched his king up the board to shepherd the only pawn on the board to the queening square,
The other game saw MK err in the opening, but although Trefor established a 2 pawn adavntage, the presence of opposite bishops in the ending meant he was unable to cash in.
