Highcliffe arrived at 7.15 with two players playing at the new venue for the first time! I told them it was an excellent venue with beer, this had great appeal. Unfortunately the utility companies let Bournemouth down, no electricity! This was obviously a problem . We had 8 players sets and clocks we were not going to be denied a game of chess. Various ideas were put forward, playing at Highcliffe (too far) , on the street ( too cold) Martin’s house (too small ). A sweaty Martin returned, a deal had been struck at Weatherspoons, so off we trot. 7.50 we began 4 hard fought draws followed so honours were shared. Thank you to Bournemouth a team definitely on the up good luck to you ! Best RU
