Thanks Neil. 4 very tough games.

Yes, thanks Steve. The highlight for us was the first showing in the NSDCA for our new young potential star Bobby. (I've added him to the LMS just now.)

Watch out Perry hopefuls Newcastle! He's coming your way next!

When I first saw the result of this match, late last night, Board 1 for Alsager was recorded as 'New Player'.
Knowing that having 'New Player' could interfere with the process by which the ratings system pulls results from the LMS in the early hours of the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th of each month, I emailed Neil to ask if he could add the actual player to his list and to the match. I then went to bed and have only just looked at the LMS again having done various errands this morning.
Thank you to the two observant people who sent me messages this morning regarding a possible breach of the 100 point rule.
Having looked into this my analysis and decision are as follows. It would seem that Neil added the player in haste (as I had asked him to) without entering a Local rating. The LMS then defaulted to the January rating which was 1079P based on 4 games played at Rhyl congress in September 2023. Since then, and prior to this match, Bobby has played another 5 games which led to his February rating being 1264P which makes much more sense to use as his local rating until he achieves a K rating (which has come through after this match as being 1245).
I hope this makes some sort of sense and is accepted as a fair decision.

As one of the observant ones mentioned, it was obvious to me that using the January P rating was not sensible when a more recent rating was available prior to Bobby playing his first league match. It's good to see new (and young) players being introduced to the NSDCA. Captain Steve Ballantyne is happy with Colin's decision.
