Hoylake played Tom Carver on board 4 but his name is not on the player list
The LMS grading do not match the ECF database,
Craig Gradden is graded at 1762
Steve Scullion is 1714
Aldis Tyler is 1499
Tom Carver is not listed
Something is very odd

Hoylake grades
The grades are taken as those at the beginning of the season. Not the updated grades. I asked Steve Kee the controller this very question when I saw after two games Steve Scullions grade had taken him over 1700. The WhatsApp message I received from Steve confirmed it was the grades atvthe beginning. And he was cleared to play. It's because we have a lot of new players their grades are lurching up and down. If you go to the result board hoylake are well under the 6000 because it is using the starting grades. In fact Atticus grade is higher than us.As for Tom carver he joined the ECF one week ago before our game with Aigburth. We are just waiting for the system to update. I hope this has cleared up any oddities. All the best

However, it seems clear that Hoylake's board 1, Craig Gradden, based on his results in all competitions, is far stronger than 1300. I would say, his grade is at least 1600. So, although I would allow this 'transgression' for this match, be aware that new players are likely to receive a provisional rating from me, and base any future team selection on that please.

That's fine. But a query. If you assess them at a grade and they play a few more games and this grade drops below your assessed grade do we stick with your grade or their new lower grade?

Matt - The grade that is
Matt - The grade that is allocated by the controller is the grade that is fixed for the season unless the controller revises it.
Steve - You can manually assign a grade in the system. This will override the ECF grade for use by this system. This doesnt affect the ECF calculations or anything like that. To do this, Click on the "Away Players", select the player then "Edit". The local grade can be added in "Local Rating". This manually entered grade will then be used for the 6000 and 7200 competitions.
