Forest Hall Chess Club claim this match 3-1. Unfortunately, Gosforth Woodbines only had two players available for the match. Forest Hall D made multiple offers to hold the match, and were told that Gosforth Woodbines did not have a full team available. The match went ahead at Forest Hall Chess Club on Friday 18th August, with all four Forest Hall players present at the start and other witnesses present.

Thanks Tim - This was a match
Thanks Tim - This was a match arranged at short notice to expedite the knockout tournament, and given the short notice, it was agreed ahead of time with both captains that if one side could not raise a full team, then a match with fewer boards would be played, with no penalty. This is why a two board match was played, and given that Gosforth had the lower ranking over the two boards, the 1-1 result means that Gosforth go through. This is sub-optimal, but marginally better than both teams being defaulted, which was the alternative solution to getting through the back-log.
