When a player who I won't name out of kindness didnt show up for board 3 it left an uphill battle for the rest of Bournemouth's team to save the match. Joe Ballard, a substitute from the D team gave his best but unfortunately blundered a piece and resigned early. This left Bournemouth needing to win on both top boards. James has been unstoppable all season with 12 wins in a row combined between internal tournaments and the various leagues, but that streak finally came to an end tonight. Well played to John Bassinder for taking out a man in great form. The final game remained with both captains fighting for nothing but personal pride. John's bishop got trapped with an h6 g5 combo, that left him down a piece but swarming an exposed king. I eventually managed to untangle this into an endgame down a pawn but up a minor piece. It was a little tricky but finally with a rook pawn and a knight it is a win (don't play a7 too quickly or you have a rude awakening) A consolation point as Wimbourne won the night 3-1.
