An exciting match - Well played Bournemouth
Based on the average monthly live ratings Bournemouth had to win 4 - 2 which they duly did but not without a few scares.
To start with, there was a mix up on bottom board which resulted in the Bournemouth player turning up more than 30 mins after the start of the match so there was a default win for Southbourne. There was then a good draw for Michal on board 5 which put Southbourne 1½ - ½ ahead and only needing 1 more point from the 4 other remaining games which all looked ok. However, boards 1, 3 & 4 all turned in Bournemouth's favour in the 3rd hour leaving Florence needing a win on board 2. However, in what would have resulted in a Q + P position with both kings exposed, and tiredness now playing its part, Florence took a perpetual check in an exciting game.
So, well played Bournemouth and good luck in the next round.
