I am sure that Streatham & Brixton would have produced a stronger line-up if they hadn't already won the Croydon Shield e.g. players graded over 2100 who played in Away match v W. Wickham

Thanks for the Congrats - but to put the record straight: the reason we had a weaker team is that we had a London League First team match that same evening, which we prioritised for our strongest players. We had raised this with Martin Stewart in advance of the CDCL A match, asking about the possibility of a rearrangment. He was reluctant to do this in view of congestion in Lewisham's own fixture list, possible delay into July, and the likely reluctance of Lewisham players to turn out back to back after their own LL matches. We accepted this - in spite of it not being in our own best interests to play on the 29th. Martin was therefore aware that we would field a weaker team than normal. Thus it was nothing to do with us having already won the Division A - something that I was not sure of in my own mind anyway.
