Round 1

The entries for the DONS KO Rapidplay are now closed and we have 15 entries. The rules have been slightly changed this season in that (to tie in with the Norfolk blitz rules) any blitz decider game will be played at the time rate of 5m + 2s (rather than 3m + 2s). Otherwise the format and rules are shown below.

Format

There will be a random draw for each round (the first round draw is shown below). Each match will consist of a pair of Rapidplay games which will be rated. The time control used will be that used in standard Norfolk Rapidplay events of 20m + 10s increment. In the event of a 1-1 draw after these two games have been played there will be a deciding blitz game played at 5m + 2s increment. If the deciding game is a draw then the tie will go to the lowest rated player-this is based on the January 2024 rating list and for players without a rapidplay rating a standard rating is used indicated with an 's'. Where required the blitz game will also be rated.

If the games result in a 1-1 draw a blitz decider of 5m + 2s increment is to be played, where the first named player has the white pieces again. In the event of a draw in the blitz decider the player highlighted in yellow above will progress.
