Highcliffe Castles vs Southbourne Seagulls
Despite the disappointing score line for the Seagulls, there was some good chess played. On board 2, Finn looked in a good winning position but unfortunately made a slight error and his opponent, Andy, capitalised. Still great experience for the young junior.
The game between Alan (Southbourne) and Dan (Highcliffe) was tight throughout, so much so that they almost lost track of time. Eventually after a long battle, which could have gone either way or ended in a draw, Alan succumbed to Dan. The game on board 1 went right to the wire with some tense endgame play with under a minute remaining. Neither player could get the winning position and a draw was agreed. Many thanks to Highcliffe for their hospitality and fairness of play.
