After an initial worry that Dorchester's board 3 wasn't going to show, the teams got down to the serious business in what could turn out to be the division 2 title decider. Board 4 was open and exciting with thrust and counterthrust, ultimately in a win for Dorchester. The other 3 games ground on, small initiatives being exploited, pressure exerted. Board 3 was next to finish with Simon's exact play in a rook and queen endgame finding a mate. Steve out manouvered Andy on board 1 so with the score at 2-1 to Dorch all rested on board 2 where Mark was trying to get a passed pawns to queen in a king and rook ending. It all looked very difficult from the sidelines but Mark saw it through. A hard fought match enjoyed by all.

Well played Dorchester - it
Well played Dorchester - it was good to see you all again after 2 years! You're odds on for the title now unless we win our last match 4-0 and you lose yours by the same score!
