A very close, hard-fought match with most of the games going on past 10 o'clock. First to finish was board 2 where a draw was agreed after John was unable to gain an advantage against Mark's Modern Defence. On Board 4, it seemed to me that George was under a lot of pressure from Chris but in the end he was able to hold out for a draw. My game on board 1 had looked drawish for quite a while - I had a little pressure but I couldn't see how to make anything of it. Luckily for me, Andrew decided to let me swap off the remaining pieces which left me with a winning K + P ending. In the final game on board 3, after a reasonable opening Nick lost a pawn and, despite putting up stern resistance, eventually lost.
