An excellent match with
An excellent match with exciting games.
On board 1 I could not understand what was goin g on but Mike came out of the complications with a winning rook and pawn ending.
On board 2 I was suffering with a poor position for most of match but hung on for a draw with John.
On board 3 Bill played a canny game and seemed to have the advantage thru the game and finished with an excellent mating net with Rook , bishop and knight.
Board 4 was last to finish and could have gone either way. Stephen had to sacrifice the exchange to get some play but had 2 connected queenside passed pawns. In a frantic finish both players queened but agreed a draw as no clear win for either.
