Last game of the season, we needed to win to have a chance of winning the league and I needed to win to take the boardman trophy. So scene is set. Very little happened for the first hour, two games still have 32 pieces still in play. The first breakthrough came on board 2 where Neil won a piece. Myself and Alan played a French defence, which sounds dull, but with opposite castling and both attacking it got very complicated. Boards 3 and 4 were still unclear. Board 2 finished first 1-0 Highcliffe. Andy managed to grind down Simon so 2-0, John then got revenge on Robert who beat him earlier in the season so 2-1, Myself and Alan were down to increments ,when a slight breakthrough gave me an advantage which was decisive so 3-1. Our destiny rests with Bournemouth and Poole.RU.
