Chris Lane's Match Report for Southbourne D v Bournemouth C
This evening there was quite a dramatic match between Southbourne D and Bournemouth C in the very friendly and socially spaced out Tuckton Social Club.
There were two fine wins for Alan Reid and Ken Dixon against, respectively, A. Alderton and PA Bland. Mark Spalding played very well against a powerful opponent in P Errington but a back row checkmate finished the game. Florence Spalding came up against a new, strong player in F Oloyede, and the experience will be invaliable.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw and it was an enjoyable night's chess to observe, and as usual Martin Simons provided much needed refreshments (tea/coffee, biccies)
