First surprise after managing to get through new A31 roadworks around Ringwood was board 1 being Kevin Goater ( so new not on list of players ! ). Otherwise Ringwood were weaker than normal but now great potential if can get all registered players.
The bottom board was first to finish but not before Darrell had a call from Kasparov - but did not help!
The top board was a very tight game and eventually a draw was agreed.
Eddie was under pressure after an excellent sac but fortunately for him Rob could not find the winning follow up and when the fog had cleared Eddie managed a win.
My board was the usual Morra Gambit between us and white had quite a big advantage and I was forced to sac the exchange to get back into game and I tried for win but could not find the correct moves so a draw was agreed.
Thanks to Ringwood for their hospitality in there new larger room.
