At long last a win for Lytham 1 We were given a start when Morecambe were unable to raise a full team and had to default on board5.
Nevertheless the result did not depend on this, as will be seen form the scores.
Kit played solidly against Glenn and a state of equilibrium was reached which Kit wisely chose not to disrupt by seeking for more than was attainable with accurate play.
Peter also played solidly against Nick and with, level material throughout, this looked a certain draw for a long time.
There was more active play on board 4 where Michael may have missed a chance of winning after a sharp early combination by Dave failed to achieve the upper hand.
I played aggressively from the start against Richard and may have surprised him in the opening after preventing him from castling. I was able to castle long safely and then open up the kingside after exchanging off Richard's best defensive pieces. The attack on Black's king prevailed and forced resignation as the first time-control was reached.
