close fought match which Highcliffe edged a much needed victory
On board 3 Jan got an early advantage but Phil battled back well, Board 4 was very balanced game ending up with Rook and 8 pawns each - both 3 and 4 agreed draws.
On board 2 Tom got the edge in the end game of a very closely fought game - which proved to be the difference between the 2 teams. Board 1 was a very open game with neither player getting a convincing advantage.
Highcliffe C happy to register its first win of the season in a very closely fought contest.
