As expected, this was a closely fought match between two evenly matched sets of players. Firstly, Simon overcame Liam, then Paul Fearnhead, who had put Ken under pressure with the White pieces, forcing him to exchange queen for knight to avoid mate, won a protracted game. Young Ben achieved revenge against Dave, with an aggressive knight move (just like his Dad against Ken) which saw Dave's position collapse. Finally, Les and Paul Worsley were in a close game. With a draw agreed, the 2nd. won 2.5-1.5, keeping their 100% record at the top of the division.
