A Lytham 3 Away Victory
A couple of games finished suddenly in the middle game. Bharath played a solid Opening on board 4, but when moving his King into what he thought was a safer area, only to miss a long range checkmate from Shaun. I (David) on board 2 had launched an attack in the King side, but having seen a discovered attack on my Queen at one point in the games, failed to see it a move later! So Pat went on to win the game.
Geoff, who has only recently returned to playing chess, played a Bishop sacrifice to give him the advantage of the Rook and Bishop exchange, but with less pawns the players agreed a draw in the end game. Whilst Bob held an advantage for Lytham on boards 1 for much of the match, Steve had his pieces better positioned in the end game and was able to secure a win, so it was a victory for Lytham 3.

Leyland1 v Lytham 3
Please note and amend accordingly - Board 4 should read Darren Pickering (New Player) for Lytham 3 and not Shaun Clarkson. Sorry for any inconvenience.
