Leyland's first home match in the Blackpool and Fylde league. We were expecting the top teams in this division would prove strong competition for us, and that proved to be the case.
I failed to see a discovered check and lost my Queen. John, realising a dangerous pin was on miscalculated what he thought was a way out and lost a knight, the eventually lost the game.
Martin in the other hand exchanged a piece for two pawns for what he though was a better position. But later on in the game his King was exposed and Paul, looking like he had check mating threats with Queen and Knight, was held to a draw with Martin.
Steve was under the cosh most of the game, and while he lasted the longest, also suffered a defeat.
So thanks to Martin, Leyland had half a point.
