well done to Highcliffe on a hard fought team effort, good experience for School boy Oscar on his first outing with Poole Chess Club.

Poole Rooks flew in on the
Poole Rooks flew in on the wave of a storm and with our top boards about to catch planes they looked strong enough to ensure they would be at the airport ahead of schedule. The teams "fledglings" fought out board 4 and set the scene. Board 3 agreed a draw and left it to boards 1 and 2 to fight it out. With the windows rattling the games were tight and apart from issues in baggage handling honours were even giving Highcliffe a narrow win. Hopefully their journey home was uneventful and we look forward to the return at the end of the season.
