So on a wet evening visit to Pelhams playing against a new and mixed Bournemouth team vs our Poole Bishops all Juniors. The match started at 7.05 and me thinking we could all be home by 9pm to watch the Champions league. Good guess, because by then the boys on the road all too young to vote had managed an away win! Not sure how really!
So as I walked up and down the boards things were not going too well. On Bd 3 Febby (B'mth) was a piece up after 9 moves but managed to lose 6 moves later - strange game this chess!
On Bd 1 Jamie was struggling with the other 2 boards looking fairly even. In no time soon after a conclusive win on Bd 1 John Harrison had levelled the scores. On Bd 2 Derek who was struggling on time had a Queen advantage but with the clock ticking was struggling to finish. Jack playing some daring chess with chances for both players.
Unfortunately for Derek who ran out of time and after much persuasion Jack agreed a draw to complete the match 1.5/2.5 Poole Bishops.
Well played Bournemouth and a good away win for the boys from Poole to conclude an enjoyable evening with much thought on development for the next matches to come.

Well done to both teams - another good example of how Bacchus is giving match play opportunities to players who would not get this kind of opportunity otherwise. As Captains like Eric have implied several times, hopefully some of these Bacchus players will get B&D experience in the seasons ahead.
An excellent report Eric - well done! You put so much effort into making this new league a success.
Bournemouth - Eric was not sure who your board 4 was. I have guessed it might have been Roger Strong, but if I am wrong please can you correct this or let me know, and I will change it. I am keen to get it right for grading etc.

LATER UPDATE...Eric has kindly confirmed board 4 was John Szczepaniak for B'th so now updated on LMS etc
