Ringwood had a very enjoyable, if tough, night at Poole. They were unable to maintain their 100 record but did at least remain unbeaten.
First to finish was board 3 where the "captains" repeated the position early, which allowed them to fret about their still playing teammates.
Next, Board 1. This was a typically complicated position from a Benko, which I would have lost for either side.
With Ringwood leading 1.5-0.5, Poole needed someone to step up to stay in the match :-). This was provided by John on board 2 who played well throughout the game and eventually forced Brucve to capitulate in a rook ending.
Everything then rested on board 4. Material was equal but Toby seemed to have positional pressure - a good knight against a bad bishop and a lot of space. However, Rob held on tenaciously and as both players got down to playing on the increment, a draw was agreed.
So a good evening to end a very good season for Ringwood in the Dorset league.

Well done to Ringwood for winning the division. It was totally deserved
