Poole arrived with a very strong team, no doubt looking for revenge for the last years' result which proved to be a turning point in their season and probably cost them the league. Weymouth this time were unable to field their strongest team, but gave Poole a good run for their money with close games on all boards. As often happens the games turned in favour of the stronger players as each reached a conclusion. I suspect Chris Johns was doing ok against Michal Duggan in an IQP position, and Malcolm looked like he had possibilities of a exchange sacrifice which would have given him long term prospects of white square domination. A very sporting draw offer, in a completely won position, by John on board three secure the result for Poole.
