About 17-00 I became aware that our regular board 2 was unable to play, so with no-one else available Ringwood B had to play one short, which meant that I found myself playing Mike Rutter yet again - & losing for the 5th time in a row - a great start to the season!! Malcolm Day (Ringwood)

Well done Poole!
Strange coincidence the aggregate grades for the 3 players with each team were the same, i.e. 358. The player absence was due to an urgent work situation and was therefore unavoidable. Poole played well on the night and were deserved winners. Typical of Eric's sense of fairplay and sportsmanship, he asked for the original score of 0.5-3.5 to be adjusted to reflect the circumstances
