A competitive match that was closer than the scoreline suggested. Pete Wilcock was giving Russ Pegg a good game until he inadvertently put his queen en prise. Mark Littleton and Martin Simons then agreed a draw when the position almost became interesting, possibly because the tea break was fast approaching. The bottom two boards lasted the full three hour duration when it wasn't clear which way the results would go. However, perhaps more significantly, the Wimborne players were shorter on time. James Forster manage to swap off what seemed to a harmless rook and pawn ending into a winning king and pawn ending whilst Jon Catchpole just edged out Stephen Appleby. This result confirmed Wimborne B's relegation from the top flight, whilst Southbourne A have temporarily gone top on game points scored..
